Both the inside and the outside are finished with a ceramic-glaze non-stick coating. The exterior is mint green with a speckled look; the interior is cream. The corners are rounded.
The side length is 10.5 cm and the height is 4 cm. One tin weighs about 86 g. It is sold as a single piece. The shallow depth is meant for a small bake that cooks through without a lid. The triangular shape gives three straight sides when the loaf is turned out and sliced.
A light coat of fat or a small piece of parchment still helps with high-sugar batters. Fill the tin about two-thirds full. Place it on a baking tray so it is easier to move. Because the tin is small, baking time is shorter than for a standard loaf; check early rather than following a large-tin recipe without change.
The glaze is a release surface, not an unbreakable layer. Do not cut inside the tin. Do not use a metal whisk or knife against the coating. Let the tin cool before washing. Hand-wash with a soft sponge, then dry the rim and base. Sudden cold water on a hot tin can strain both the steel and the coating.
Store the tin where other pans will not knock the glazed surface. If you later buy more than one, stack them with paper between.
